Giving a commission to a sourcing company is very common. Finding a good supplier and managing it is a lot of work. But, if you keep re-ordering the same products from the same suppliers, you will probably pay more than you should.
Here is another option, which better reflects the agent’s work:
Pay a flat fee for identifying and screening suppliers for each new product;
Pay another fee for following each new product development;
Pay yet another fee for managing each order’s production & shipment.
