What does AQL mean

Time:2011-11-08 14:59 Author:Nancy Dai Click:Time

When using  the 3rd party quality inspection company, one important factor to understand is the standard used to select random samples on cosmetic testing.

The most commonly used standard for product inspections is standard ISO 2859-1 (ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-2003). It uses the concept of AQL, or Acceptable Quality Limit.

What does AQL mean? The standard definition of the AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) is “the maximum defective percent (or the maximum number of defects per hundred units) that, for purpose of sampling inspection, can be considered satisfactory as a process average”.
